News about the research program
- Since July 2021, we have been commissioned with another study area on the research topic "The potential of roadside areas to promote biodiversity and their role in the spread of alien species" by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), namely the Berlin study area (FE 02.0449/2021/LRB).
- Since April 2021, we have a new research project commissioned by the Federal Highway Research Institute: FE 02.0440/2020/LRB - "Evaluation of the effectiveness of existing overflight aids for bats on roads". We are working on this together with OekoFor from Freiburg.
- At the beginning of 2021, we started a new research project on behalf of the BfN on repowering of wind turbines together with BioConsult-SH, Bosch & Partner and the law firm Müller-Wrede & Partner:

- Furthermore, we completed the research project FE 02.0372/2014/LRB "Mitigation of indirect trapping effects for animals in roadside areas" on behalf of BASt at the end of last year. The publication of the final report is expected in mid-2021 in the orange series "Research Road Construction and Road Traffic Engineering".
- The R&D project: "The potential of roadside areas to promote biodiversity and their role in the spread of alien species - FE 02.0409/2017/LRB" commissioned by BASt has been completed and the publication is also expected to be issued in the series "Research Road Construction and Road Traffic Engineering" during 2021.
- In the research project "Methods of construction field clearance in reptile habitats, terrestrial habitats of amphibians and habitats of the dormouse, research and development project 02.0407/2016/LGB", which was prepared by Ulrich Schulte, Klaus Albrecht was in the research-accompanying working group and contributed to the topic of species protection. The publication should again appear in the series "Research Road Construction and Road Traffic Engineering" in the course of the year 2021. The FGSV has now founded a task force on the topic of species protection in construction site clearance and plans to initially prepare a working guide based on the completed research project.
